For most standby batteries an electrolyte level indicator is a very useful device. The Crystal type Indicator manufactured by JK Ceraplast has a transparent body making it very easy to see the level. There is a float that goes up or down depending on the increase of decrease of the electrolyte level.

By observing the indicator one can top up the battery fluid to maintain it at the desired levels and thus keep battery at a peak performance with regularity. The level of fluid inside the battery can be monitored from the outside by observing the float as demarcated by the red and green marks.
